Ras Sahil terminal expansion sanctioned
Two additional crude tanks, a second Suezmax-capable berth and a vapour recovery unit will roughly double terminal throughput by 2027.
The board has sanctioned the expansion of the Ras Sahil crude export terminal, adding two 780,000-barrel floating-roof tanks and a second loading berth capable of taking Suezmax vessels.
A vapour recovery unit serving both berths and the tank farm will capture 96 per cent of the hydrocarbon vapour displaced during loading — the terminal's largest single emissions source.
Marine construction is sequenced around the summer swell season and the turtle nesting window on the adjacent beach. Commissioning is forecast for the fourth quarter of 2027.
