Routine flaring down 94% against the 2020 baseline
The group's annual environmental report records 31 billion cubic feet of associated gas captured last year and methane intensity of 0.11% of marketed gas.
Falaj's fifth annual environmental report, published on 2 March, records a 94 per cent reduction in routine flaring across all nineteen operated sites measured against the metered 2020 baseline.
The programme captured 31 billion cubic feet of associated gas over the year, avoiding an estimated 1.7 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. Methane intensity across the operated portfolio is 0.11 per cent of marketed gas, independently assured for the third consecutive year.
The remaining 6 per cent is safety and upset flaring, which the company does not expect or intend to eliminate. The full inventory, including site-level figures and the assurance statement, is published with the report.
